Stockton: A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape, assault, and false imprisonment. Police were called to a street in the area after concerns for a woman’s safety.

Officers arrived at a property on Norton Road around 6 PM on Monday. They set up a roadblock and began their investigation. A woman was injured and taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Police confirmed they received the call around 5:30 PM. A 61-year-old local man was arrested and is in custody for questioning. Officers will remain in the area to reassure the community.

The North East Ambulance Service reported they were called shortly before 5:30 PM. They dispatched an ambulance to the scene, and the injured woman was taken to the hospital.
