Hartlepool: A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of rape. This happened during Operation Artemis, which targets serious crime in the area.

Cleveland Police acted on January 31, making several arrests across Teesside. The boy remains in police custody.

Another arrest involved a 29-year-old man in Hartlepool, suspected of serious assault. He is also in custody.

In Stockton, a 26-year-old woman was arrested for drug importation after police seized 7kg of suspected cannabis. She remains in custody too.

A 56-year-old man was detained in Middlesbrough for harassment. He is being held following an alleged incident in Redcar and Cleveland.

Operation Artemis also included community engagement. PC Geoff Coggin spoke to about sixty students at Hartlepool College about safety and crime prevention.

Officers engaged with residents in Dormanstown, discussing concerns about serious violence. They encouraged community involvement.

School officers taught over sixty pupils at Bankfields Primary about online safety and knife crime. Similar lessons were given at Acklam Grange School.
