Good news! A new payment is coming soon. It’s called Pay-Related Jobseeker’s Benefit. Thousands can claim this new payment. It starts on March 31st after a year of work.

People can get up to €450 each week. Your benefit links to past earnings. This helps those who lose jobs. You must lose your job after March 31, 2025. You also need enough PRSI contributions.

Three PRSI rules must be met. First, you must have 104 Class A, H, or P contributions. Second, 4 Class A or H contributions in the prior ten weeks. Third, 26 Class A or H contributions during the past year. Different rules may apply to other benefit recipients.

How much can you get per week? If you paid PRSI for five years; it has tiers. Sixty percent of past pay, up to €450 for three months. Then, fifty-five percent, up to €375 for three months. After that, fifty percent, capped at €300 for three months.

If you have paid PRSI for 2 to 5 years; it’s simpler. You get fifty percent of pay, up to €300 weekly. This lasts six months in total. The minimum payment is €125. Details on how to apply are coming soon. Apply for regular Jobseeker’s currently, if jobless now.

If you already get Jobseeker’s, keep getting it. You get it until you return to work or it ends.
