Middlesbrough: A nurse is in hot water after allegedly injecting a shop owner. Darren Harris, 57, reportedly used anaesthetic he took from a hospital.

The victim, Gary Lewis, owns a record shop in Northallerton. On July 2, while Lewis was busy, Harris jabbed him in the buttocks with a needle.

Harris claims he only meant to scare Lewis. But the drug, rocuronium, left Lewis paralyzed. He managed to call for help before collapsing.

Witnesses saw Harris leave the shop quickly. CCTV footage showed him acting suspiciously by his car.

A toxicologist explained in court that rocuronium can stop muscles from working. It’s a serious drug that should only be used in hospitals.

Lewis thought Harris was just a regular customer. They even chatted about work before the shocking attack.

A nearby shop worker, Susan Allen, heard Lewis shout for help. She thought someone had stolen something. But then she realized the truth.

Lewis pointed to his buttock, indicating where he was stabbed. It was a shocking turn of events for everyone involved.

The trial is ongoing, and the community is left in disbelief.
