Middlesbrough: The council is looking at a proposal for a car wash in the Parkway Shopping Centre car park. This could bring new jobs to the area.

The plan suggests an eco-friendly car wash right across from Tesco Extra. It aims to be convenient for shoppers while keeping the shopping centre running smoothly.

The car wash would take up about 25m x 7m of space. It will have features to make the service easy and efficient for customers.

Two canopies made from recycled materials will cover the wash area. They’ll be tall enough for all vehicle sizes. If approved, there will also be an office and storage space for staff.

To keep traffic safe, screens will be placed along the road side of the facility. These will be 1.8 meters high. The car wash will have energy-efficient tools, including jet washers and hoovers.

The current parking area will be transformed into the car wash, creating two full-time and two part-time jobs if the plans go ahead.

The car wash is set to operate daily from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with a maximum of 25 vehicles each day to avoid congestion.

There will be ten parking spots reserved for customers. The process will be simple: customers park, and staff will handle the cleaning and return of vehicles.

The council is still reviewing the application, and it’s unclear when a final decision will be made.
