Sunderland: A woman was whipped and kicked in the face after a joke about her horse. It all started at a beer garden where she was having a good time.

She had just participated in a horse drive and was chatting with some folks. When she joked that her horse should have won a competition, things took a nasty turn. One of the women at the table, Chloe Blanckley, got offended.

An argument broke out, and then Patrick Stokes, Blanckley’s partner, threw a drink at her. He even used her own horse whip against her. After leaving the pub, the situation escalated.

When the victim confronted them outside, Stokes knocked her down. Blanckley held her down while Stokes kicked her in the face multiple times. It was brutal, and CCTV footage showed the whole thing.

The woman ended up with serious injuries, including fractures to her eye socket. She needed surgery and has been struggling ever since. In her victim statement, she shared how the attack changed her life.

She now feels anxious and scared to go out, especially to pubs. She’s even installed cameras at home for safety. Both Blanckley and Stokes pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm.

Blanckley received a suspended sentence, while Stokes was sentenced to over two years in prison. They both have restraining orders against the victim. It’s a sad reminder of how quickly a joke can turn into something horrific.
