A water pipe broke on a busy city road. Victoria Road in Fenton now has temporary traffic lights. This causes gridlock in both directions for drivers, and buses face delays of around 40 minutes.

Leek Road, near the university, is already congested daily due to train station work, creating long queues. Now, the bus delays add to commuters’ troubles, and people should expect longer travel times.

First Bus alerted riders to problems. Routes 6 and 6A are affected, and buses divert along City Road on rotations. City Road also sees traffic from other road work recently.

Victoria Road queues stretch back to Joiners Square. The Victoria Road work occurs at Manor Street’s junction. Manor Street closed for the water leak repairs, and the closure lasts until February 10.

One rider waited 45 minutes in Hanley; they learned buses rerouted down City Road. This change resulted from Victoria Road’s delays.

Road work on Victoria Road started yesterday. One Network stated the work should end by 4 PM on February 11.
