Middlesbrough: Twin brothers are on trial for attempted murder. They are accused of being involved in a shooting that left a man blind.

Arron and Nathan Blagg, both 26, allegedly led a group that confronted people at a house. On May 17 last year, a black Kia Sorrento and a quad bike drove past a home on Marton Road. The Kia sped towards Jamie Tindall, who was shot in the face.

The prosecution claims a passenger on the quad bike shot Mr. Tindall with a shotgun. Arron Blagg is said to have driven the Kia, which crashed into a gate post. Nathan Blagg was reportedly in the passenger seat.

While neither brother is accused of firing the gun, they are believed to have planned the confrontation. They deny the charges and claim they were not at the scene.

During the trial, the court heard Mr. Tindall collapsed in a backyard. His cousin, Aaron Harvey, broke the Kia’s front window. Nathan Blagg allegedly exited the car with a machete, leading to a standoff.

Mr. Tindall lost his sight due to the shooting and spent 11 weeks in the hospital. He testified via video link, explaining he was waiting for a ride because they expected trouble.

When questioned, Mr. Tindall confirmed he saw the driver of the car. He picked up a machete in response to the approaching vehicles. He mentioned they were prepared for a fight, with tools scattered around.

The trial is ongoing.
