Teesside: It seems like thieves are really targeting Land Rovers and Range Rovers lately. Just this month, there have been 13 theft attempts in the area. Stockton is taking the brunt of it, with many incidents linked to keyless thefts.

The latest incident happened early on January 23. A Land Rover owner caught a group trying to steal his vehicle right outside his home in Saltburn. They took off, and the police are still trying to track them down.

Cleveland Police are urging vehicle owners to stay alert. If you see anything suspicious, don’t hesitate to report it. There are also some handy tips to help keep your car safe.

Using a good quality steering lock can really deter thieves. Also, keep your key fob in a secure shield. Hiding it isn’t enough anymore. Consider getting a fob blocking bag from a trusted source.

When parking, look for car parks with the Safer Parking Award. Always be aware of your surroundings when you return to your car. Make sure your vehicle is locked, windows are up, and valuables are out of sight.

Stay vigilant and keep an eye on your neighborhood. If you notice anything odd, call the police at 101 or 999 if it’s an emergency.

If you have any information, reach out to Cleveland Police at 101. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously online or by calling 0800 555 111.
