Teesside is enjoying a brief warm-up, but colder temperatures are on the way, so don’t put away your winter coat just yet!
Teesside: After a chilly spell, the weather is warming up. Today, temperatures could hit 11C. It’s a nice change, right?
But don’t get too comfy. The Met Office warns that the cold will return. By Saturday, we might see temperatures drop to -2C again. Brr!
For now, enjoy the sunshine. Today’s weather is expected to be mild, with a gentle breeze. Tonight should be mostly dry, with a low of 5C.
Starting tomorrow, temperatures will gradually fall again. Fresh winds will pick up, making it feel even cooler. Saturday could be a real shocker with highs of just 3C.
This weather flip comes after a brutal cold snap. Many faced temperatures as low as -16C. Snow and ice warnings have been all over the news.
With the thaw, river levels are rising. Flood alerts are out for parts of North Yorkshire, especially near the River Swale. Stay safe if you’re in those areas!
As we head into February, expect more ups and downs in the weather. The Met Office says we’ll see a mix of rain and wind, especially in the north and west.
But don’t forget, there’s still a chance for colder spells with frost and even snow. So, keep that winter coat handy!
