Wynyard: A heavy goods vehicle has tipped over, causing the A689 to close. Storm Éowyn is really hitting Teesside hard today. The Met Office even issued an Amber weather warning.

The A689 eastbound is shut down because of the overturned lorry. Plus, in Stockton, a tree has fallen, blocking another road. It’s a bit of a mess out there.

The area near the A19 flyover is also off-limits for high-sided vehicles. Cleveland Police are on it, urging drivers to steer clear of the area while they sort things out.

They’re also dealing with the fallen tree on Durham Road in Stockton, near the Mile House junction. One lane is closed there, and they’re working to clear it up.

Reports say another tree has fallen on McMullen Road in Darlington, too. Travel guide Inrix mentions that the A19 is closed for high-sided vehicles due to the strong winds.

The A66 is also shut down in both directions because of the weather. The Met Office warns that gusts could reach 90mph in some places. Stay safe out there!
