A new car wash with multiple features is proposed for Acklam Road in Middlesbrough, pending council approval after a recent rejection of a nearby plan.
There will also be four charging bays for electric vehicles and two air and water bays. Plus, they’re adding four standard parking spaces. Sounds pretty convenient, right?
Interestingly, this comes right after a local resident had his car wash plans turned down. The new site is just half a mile from that rejected spot. It’s located at the corner of Acklam Road and Burlam Road, near Linthorpe cemetery.
Currently, the land is being used as a compound while a petrol station is being built. Before that, it was just a parking lot.
The proposed car wash will sit next to an approved filling station and convenience store. This area used to be home to the Roseberry filling station, which closed down in 2017.
The application states there won’t be any new access points from the road. Also, no new paths or diversions will be needed. As of now, we don’t know the opening hours for the car wash yet.
