A van driver, Thomas Rees, faces charges after exposing himself to a mother on a school run in Darlington. He will be sentenced next month.
The mother was quick on her feet. She took photos of the van, capturing part of the registration number. This helped the police track down Rees. They arrested him at his home in Harrogate on January 27.
Investigators found videos on Rees’s phone showing similar acts from at least nine other incidents. He was charged with nine counts of exposure and admitted to the offenses in court. He is now waiting for sentencing on February 18.
Detective Constable Daniela Jones praised the mother for her bravery. Her actions helped catch a dangerous predator. Rees has targeted women in several areas, including Gateshead, Leeds, and Sheffield. Police are urging anyone else who may have been a victim to come forward.
