Middlesbrough: A planning application has been submitted for a major £200 million regeneration project. This project is set to transform a derelict site in Gresham.

Developers iMpeC and Buccleuch Property want to build over 230 rental homes. They also plan to create student accommodation for more than 400 people. This is the largest investment in Middlesbrough in a generation.

Neil McMillan, a director at iMpeC, shared that this application is a big step forward. They’ve worked closely with local residents and businesses to shape the project. The goal is to provide high-quality housing to attract talented individuals to the area.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen praised the project. He noted that this site has been empty for too long. The development will bring new life to Middlesbrough’s town center.

The planning application follows extensive consultations with the community. It was also announced that Fairfield by Marriott is in talks to open a new hotel nearby. Wates will lead the construction, and an additional £7 million in funding has been secured.

This project promises to be a game-changer for Middlesbrough, supporting local businesses and enhancing the community.
