Stockton: A mother is furious after her daughter was hurt in a hit-and-run. Tori Walton, 12, was walking home from school when a car hit her. The driver didn’t stop to help.

Tori was on her way to her grandmother’s house when the accident happened at a junction. She fell and hurt her head badly, needing 17 staples to close the wound. Thankfully, another driver stopped to help and called for an ambulance.

Paramedics took Tori to North Tees University Hospital. Doctors treated her injuries and checked her over. Meanwhile, police are looking for the driver who fled the scene.

Tori’s mom, Charleigh McCann, is in shock. She said Tori looks like she’s been in a fight. Charleigh is worried about her daughter’s recovery. Tori is scared to sleep, fearing she won’t wake up.

Charleigh mentioned that Tori was on the phone when the accident happened. She didn’t look for traffic, but Charleigh believes the driver should have stopped. She wants the driver caught and has no sympathy for them.
