From 6am to 9pm, gusts could hit 60-70mph. Coastal areas might see winds up to 90mph. Heavy rain and even some snow are also expected as the weekend rolls in.
Wind speeds will ramp up early Friday morning. By 6am, most places will feel winds over 50mph. The strongest gusts will likely peak around midday.
Coastal towns like Redcar and Saltburn are bracing for gusts around 65mph. Hartlepool is in the same boat. Inland, Middlesbrough will see gusts of about 63mph.
Stockton and Darlington are also in for a rough ride with gusts peaking at 65mph. Winds will start to calm down in the evening, but won’t drop below 40mph until Saturday morning.
