Met Eireann has revised red weather warnings for Ireland as Storm Eowyn approaches, bringing dangerous conditions and strong winds across several counties
The warnings now start earlier than expected. For Galway and Clare, the red alert kicks in at 3am and ends at 11am on Friday. That’s one hour sooner than before.
They’ve also changed the warning times for other counties. Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Wexford, and Limerick will see warnings from 2am to 10am.
Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo will have their warnings from 4am to 12pm. Meanwhile, Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, and several other counties will be under warning from 6am to 11pm.
Met Eireann first issued the red warning on Wednesday. They said Storm Eowyn could bring winds over 130 km/h. That’s no joke!
They warned of dangerous travel, possible cancellations, and even power outages. It’s going to be a wild ride, so stay safe out there!
As the storm moves in, expect strong winds and scattered showers. It might even get a bit wintry later in the day.
Temperatures will be chilly, feeling even colder with the wind. Friday night will be blustery, with some frost possible by Saturday morning.
