A man from Teesside will face trial. He is accused of murdering a dad. The incident happened at York Train Station.

McKenzie Dicicco, age 22, went to court. He faces charges of murder, manslaughter, and affray. This follows the death of James Hitchcock, a goalkeeper and a dad.

James was seriously hurt outside Burger King. Police and medics went to the station at almost 9 PM on December 15. He died in the hospital on December 18, surrounded by his family.

The judge said the trial starts July 14 and might last five days or longer. James Hitchcock played for Barton Town FC. The club said they were heartbroken.

The club chairman spoke about James, who joined the team from Bridlington Town at the start of the season. He said that James’ death is hard to take because James was a popular member of the club.

The first team manager, who knew James well and played with him before, described James as a good and kind guy. He added that James is irreplaceable.
