Galway: Irish drivers are being asked to get on board with new digital license changes. These changes are coming, but they’re a bit delayed. The digital driving license will be part of a digital wallet on your smartphone, making life easier for everyone.

Originally, the plan was to roll this out in 2024, but some hiccups came up. A pilot program showed that drivers with special needs faced some challenges. So, the government is taking its time to fix those issues.

When it’s ready, you’ll be able to store your birth certificate, driver’s license, and other important documents in one place. Plus, the digital license will be accepted by the gardaí, so you won’t have to worry about carrying your physical card everywhere.

But there’s more going on. The Road Safety Authority is warning everyone to be careful during Storm Eowyn. They’ve issued serious weather warnings, saying this storm is not your average bad weather.

With strong winds and potential flooding, they’re advising people to stay off the roads if they can. It’s all about keeping everyone safe and avoiding unnecessary risks. So, if you don’t need to go out, it’s best to stay home and wait it out.
