Galway: A family is looking for witnesses after their son was hit by a car. This happened during the busy evening rush hour at the Clybaun Roundabout.

The incident took place on January 21 around 7 PM. The young man was crossing the road with his bicycle when the accident occurred.

The family is especially grateful to a young woman who helped their son. They want her to contact the Gardaí to share what she saw.

They said, “We’d love to thank her and ask her to report the incident.” They believe many people may have witnessed the event.

They also hope that anyone with dashcam footage will come forward. It was a busy time, and there could be valuable evidence.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed that emergency services responded to the collision. The young man, in his late teens, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident happened at a well-lit pedestrian crossing equipped with orange lights. The family expressed concern about safety at such crossings.

They shared that their son suffered injuries to his thigh and hip but is recovering well. They worry about what could happen to smaller or older pedestrians.

The family urges anyone who saw the incident to contact Salthill Garda Station. They also want the helpful woman to reach out.
