The noise was heard in areas like Renmore and Mervue. One commuter even mentioned smelling burning rubber while getting on their train. They were told a bus had exploded near Lough Atalia.

Gardai confirmed they got a report of a fire at a business yard on Lough Atalia Road around 5:45 AM. They quickly responded, and the fire was managed by the Galway Fire and Rescue Service. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
