Funeral Notices Ireland has launched as a free alternative to RIP.ie, which recently introduced fees for funeral directors. The new site aims to support families without costs.
Tuam: A new website called Funeral Notices Ireland has just launched. It offers free death notices, competing with RIP.ie.
This site opened on February 1. It comes after RIP.ie announced new fees for funeral directors.
Starting in the new year, RIP.ie will charge €100 for funeral directors to submit notices. However, users won’t pay any fees.
Funeral Notices Ireland is based in Tuam, County Galway. It aims to provide a free option for families during tough times.
They have over 23,000 followers on Facebook. The site will allow donations to charities with each notice, but the service itself is free.
When they announced their plans, they emphasized that publishing death notices would be free on their platform.
RIP.ie stated that the fees would help improve their service. They want to remain a trusted resource for families in Ireland.
