Around 7:15 AM, the fire was reported, prompting evacuations of three schools and nearby businesses. The evacuations were precautionary, ensuring everyone’s safety.

Six fire engines and Garda vehicles were on-site throughout Wednesday and into Thursday. The schools involved included Coláiste Baile Chlair, Claregalway National School, and Educate Together School.

Galway County Council advised parents not to approach the schools. Instead, they should pick up their children from designated collection points.
