Galway County Council has outlined a three-step plan for Claregalway residents amid a fire at Xerotech Battery Systems, ensuring safety and clear communication.
Around 7:15 AM, the fire was reported, prompting evacuations of three schools and nearby businesses. The evacuations were precautionary, ensuring everyone’s safety.
Six fire engines and Garda vehicles were on-site throughout Wednesday and into Thursday. The schools involved included Coláiste Baile Chlair, Claregalway National School, and Educate Together School.
Galway County Council advised parents not to approach the schools. Instead, they should pick up their children from designated collection points.
The council confirmed that the fire is under control. They continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
