Stockton: A trial is underway for a man accused of raping two women. Haider Ali, 31, faces serious charges at Teesside Crown Court. The incidents happened late last year near Yarm Road.

One woman testified about her experience. She met Ali while working and agreed to a sex act for £20. They went into a derelict building together. She described him as nervous and soft-spoken.

She made it clear she wanted payment first. But Ali, who is quite large, overpowered her. She said he pushed her against a wall and raped her. It was a terrifying moment for her.

After the assault, she told police that Ali threw a condom wrapper on the floor. She confronted him, saying, “You’re going to pay me. You hurt me.” She even showed him her phone with 999 dialed.

Ali begged her not to call the police, getting on his hands and knees. She waited a few minutes, hoping he would pay her. When he didn’t, she offered to settle for £10.

As she spoke to the operator, Ali ran away. Her friend tried to chase him down for the cash. The jury saw CCTV footage of them walking together that night.

Later, when police visited her, she asked for time to think. But her dad reported the incident the next day. Ali’s defense questioned if it was really rape or just a payment dispute. The woman firmly said there was no agreement on sex.

Ali, from Middlesbrough, denies all charges. The trial is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge.
